Want top tips to make yourself an overnight success? Well, you’ve come to the wrong place. We’re all about reality at SKPT and that means your goals, your expectations and your mindset have to be prepared for failure!

People ask us all the time, “I’m just not motivated at the minute what can I do?”, “I slipped off at the weekend – I’ve ruined everything!”, “How do I keep up with an exercise plan?”

Motivation over Time

De-motivation is a part of the life cycle, and YOU have got to be prepared for failure. To trip up a little bit and start again. People don’t believe us when we say you can eat what you want – But we remind them to think about what it will take to get back to where they were before they made that choice. I can admittedly eat my weight in cheese, or have a whole tub of ice cream to myself. People look at me and think – no way! The reality is, it’s something I could do – but not something you’ll often find me doing any more for two reasons:

Quality and Quantity

  1. What is it worth? I’d probably have to train an extra two hours in the gym to undo the damage
  2. My need to do that is often about much more than actually eating – 9 times out of 10 there are emotions wrapped up with it, whether that be thinking it’s a “positive reward” for something I’ve done well or a way to swallow some feelings after a crap week.

Mindset

Well, now we’re talking mindset. And that is really where the work begins. I can train 3, 4, 5 times a week but if I don’t take into account how I feel, where my mind is at and what I’m there to do – only one of those sessions may be a game-changer for me. What I’ve had to work on is the discipline of my mind and knowing that I won’t just see what I want immediately – it’s impossible if you’re doing things naturally and healthily.

This also stands for more than physical appearance; people see a woman running a successful business alongside a heavy following online and a mass of transformation pictures and they could be led to believe, “Wow, overnight success, SKPT!” It really isn’t true and I’m as human as the next person. The days are long, the work is never done and I’ve made some poor choices along the way to building a successful business and a body I love. What I am good at however is trusting myself enough to go at something again even if I don’t get it right the first time.

We really try to create a community at SKPT, people come to us with fitness goals, but they end up sharing their life goals too and we’re completely behind them! As a woman in business, I assure you there is no such thing as an overnight success, but success, slow and steady is absolutely within reach and we’re here to help you achieve it.
